OK. I now officially hate Joe Torre. All I knew about my dad's first game was that it was 15 degrees outside. Stuck out 3 batters in 2 innings then WHAM! He never pitched at his full potential after his injury in what was his first MLB game. I had no idea what he missed out. Things makes more sense now. Thanks to all the people that left comments for my dad.

IIRC, I've always seen it reported as a "cold, raw day".
15 degrees (F) may be hyperbolic, but 15 C is way too warm.

Yes, but it would be a shame if Tim's son grew up with a distorted sense of the story.

Tim Leary had a nice little career. While he's scapegoating Hall of Fame managers, he might want to go after Tommy Lasorda for riding him and Hershiser so hard down the stretch in 1988.
