Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Going to go see him tomorrow night here in Syracuse, probably one of my few remaining chances to do so as pundits all guessing he gets called up sometime in the next 3 weeks or so.We scored free tickets through Fboy's tee ball league. Going to tailgate first with the coach and some of the other parents.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Have fun, expecting a full fman scouting report...............on the skirt at the game.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 You may be witness to his final minor league start. The Nats are being coy about exactly when he'll debut but are hinting that it's to come during the June 8-10 series v Pittsburgh (at home naturally). Don't want to get too specific so as to better sell speculative tickets to ALL those games.Meanwhile, if he does get one more in AAA it'll likely be against Buffalo sometime around the June 3 weekend.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 This is a big story in DC as fans either assumed, or were mislead (depending on who you believe), to think that Strasburg would make his debut on June 4. The place is nearly sold-out and fans feel they should have been told sooner than this week when he would pitch. Some think that this was done on purpose to get a gate. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/nationalsjournal/2010/05/report_stephen_strasburg_to_de.htmlhttp://voices.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2010/05/the_june_4_near-sellout.html(For me, I wouldn't go for free--I was offered freebies by the Susan G. Komen people as it's Susan G. Komen night and I'm running in their 5K the next dayviewtopic.php?f=2&t=13794The Mets are playing when the Nationals are playing so there's no way, even for free, that I'd watch other teams when the Mets are in action.)
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Strasburg will make his debut on June 8, at home, against Pittsburgh.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Assuming the Nationals maintain a 5-pitcher rotation, and no rainouts/schedule changes, this June 8 start would mean Strasburg would be on schedule to miss the Mets when they play in Washington on July 1-4.
