Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Always a good changeup hitter, that Kazzy.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Double, single, double... 2-0, 2nd & 3rd.Only out so far was Bourn with a leadoff whiff.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 3-0 on a deep sac fly. Egbert warming...
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Astros sporting an alternate logo on their caps.Brett Meyers is pitching for them. Signing a free agent deal with the Astros is pretty much announcing you don't mean what you used to anymore.Sarge Junior rips a leadoff double but Castillo pops out shallow.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Wright goes kablammy, 3-2.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 You missed some smoking hot fake baseball last week.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I'm sure I did. Saw something about Reyes PE abuse sending him to a thyroid specialist. Maybe Giambi can help.Ike Davis chases high junk for strike 3. 3-2 after 1.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Did you know the Astros also have Pedro Feliz? He just made a really nice play to rob Frenchy of a single.Santana gave up another buncha hits and a run last inning and got himself yanked. You know what I don't like? Alex Cora being the backup plan at shortstop. Again!Henry Blanco with the first of what I can only imagine will be a metric buttload of inning-ending DP grounders this year.

It's like buying the store brand of an awful cereal-- it may be terrible, but you get more grounder for your buck!(Also, see "Camp Buzz" for fun Jenrry Mejia footage. Many joys to be had.)
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Blanco's also bothering me with his "permanent douchewear" forearm tatts. He just mistook Luis Castillo for Wilt Chamberlain on a steal attempt.Jack Egbert, despite wearing No. 93 and having already been waived this spring, is making a real effort on the bump. 1 1/3 scoreless in relief of Johan.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 John Franco in uniform, talking about how John Olerud inspired him to throw the changeup to lefties, and how he in turn encouraged Pedro Feliciano to do the same.David Wright flies out to Cory Hotline in right.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Kaz Matsui is killing us, on base 3 times, scored 3 times. Now 7-2 on a Pedro Feliz HR off Egbert.

Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I resent the slur from Samuelson. No way two-fifths of my generation are that stupid.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 [quote name=Robert Samuelson in yesterday's Washington Post]Almost two-fifths of millennials have tattoos, up from a third among Gen Xers and from a seventh among boomers.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I dunno. I think the whole thing is more a reflection of the economy than anything. A long punishing recession is just what today's young people need.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 What's a Millennial? Is that me? Someone that "grew up" turning the turn of the Millenium?I don't have a tattoo. Not that I'm against one, but it'd have to be a good one. It's either a nice glass of beer, or a blue and orange Mets NY logo. And I'll pass on the long punishing recession, thanks. I already have too much debt and a wedding to pay for.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I resent the slur from Samuelson. No way two-fifths of my generation are that stupid.[/quote:9byd2q1j]I believe it.If someone had queried my young self about this topic many moons ago I would have opined that tattoos would be virtually non-existent by now. Back then I associated them with guys from my father's generation who had them left over from either a mis-spent youth or from their time in the Navy and that, given the option of a pain-free way to make them disappear, they'd have jumped on it immediately. Then again I probably would have said that smoking would be a rarity today also. I guess I was a very optimistic young buck.Has Davis made an error yet today?
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Home run by a fella named Ike Davis. Mets still down by 5.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Base on Balls by Jeff Francoeur. Please do not panic, but proceed in an orderly manner to the nearest bar.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Has Murphy done anything in camp warranting him keeping the first base job from Ike Davis?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 No. Are you really prepared to make a decision on the guy based on 12 plate appearances?

Look, my boner for Ike won't go down, but we're talking 1 scorching week here. If he's still crushing after a month, then Jerry can have a serious think about things.
