Those of you planning to go to CF--heads up! There have been some time changes to accommodate national TV in April and May:

April 25--8:05 (ESPN)
May 22--7:05 (FOX moves NYM/MFY to prime-time)
May 23--8:05 (ESPN)

The above means that consecutive games between two NY teams will not have NY announcers on TV.

The April 18 game at St. Louis and the May 2 game at Philadelphia are also Sunday night games meaning that the Mets are on ESPN three Sundays in a row.

Thanks bmfc1. That's good to know (especially since I have tix to the two Sunday games).

FOX is going to show MLB in primetime? They've never done that during the regular season, have they?[/quote:pz6v2zru]

I don't think so, certainly not at 7pm....I like it ...Saturday night baseball.

Can't recall Fox taking a Saturday afternoon game and moving it to Saturday night, but on April 16, 2004, they did a one-off Friday Night telecast because it was the first rematch of the MFYs and Sawx after the epic 2003 ALCS.

In the summer of '84, NBC took a Mets-Braves game scheduled for Saturday night at Shea and, per its contractual rights, moved it to Saturday afternoon. The gods were unhappy and rained it out.

Where in your brain was this info residing? , and I don't doubt for a second that reading about the time changes triggered it.

Information nobody is seeking just kind of hovers in my midst, like midges surrounding Joba Chamberlain on a warm Cleveland night.

Always good to get as many of those April/May games in the northeast as possible moved to night time.

I read CF as Centerfield and thought you were giving us a heads up on what time to show up should we get the call to replace Beltran in April/May if he's still out. (I'm sure I can outfield and outhit GMJ after all..)

I understand that MLB has sold its soul to the networks, but switching a Sunday game to the evening is very family unfriendly.[/quote:1rsk49ru]

This is nothing new. ESPN moves a certain number of games to Sunday night and has been doing so for years. No team can play on Sunday night more than five times in a season.

I amended the original message to tell you that the Mets will on Sunday night 3 weeks in a row. First of all--has ESPN checked the Mets roster lately? Second--crap! No Gary, Keith and/Ron. Third--we look forward to watching the Mets on Sundays and now we have 3 weeks in a row where we have to wait until the night.

ESPlanatioN from a network executive in Neil Best's column:

"The secret is the opponents. In the first two months, the Mets play the Yankees, Phillies, Cardinals and Braves on Sunday night. They are in the No. 1 market, so it's simple calculus to figure how we chose the Mets four times."
