If this is true... I would cut off a fingertip* to see him displace Bobby O in the Snigh post- and pregame shows. Kay's about right-- in the few MFY games I actually caught, Cone's analysis was like that of a stathead Ronnie. He broke down pitching mechanics nicely AND brought up stuff on-air like FIP(!). Miles beyond the nightly jock-metaphysics/chemistry class we get nightly from Carlin and Ojeda.

Anyone else you'd like to see in the SNY stable? Why?

I get to see very little non-game action, but Mazz won me the day he grouchily defended Joe Frazier.

I think we'd know more about what these pre-game guys had if they were given keys to the booth on the days Keith or Ron were out.

And he lost me the day he "engaged" (thanks for the word, Fman) the first base umpire and changed a pro-Mets moment to a pro- Yankees moment.

As for Cone, I don't know if he will still have the same effect on the viewing audience since the bullpen fences at CitiFiled are higher than those at Shea.

Swoboda at least has done TV work in the past - but, at last report, was still a full-time resident of N'Orlins.

Jeff Innis is supposedly a very funny guy and might be good on that basis alone. Marty Noble used to add an "Innis in the Morning" quote to all his spring training reports detailing the reliever's best quips and one-liners from the previous day.

Not quite sure what Felix Millan would bring to the table except maybe a list of reasons why getting dumped on your head is a bad thing for your career.
