Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Well, Dessens and Takahashi each pitched in 28 games, which isn't a lot but is more than a little, and did pretty well. (Dessens had a 3.31 ERA and Takahashi's was 2.96)It was hard to balance guys like that (Nieve also fits that category) with others with pitched more but less well. (Like Redding and Pelfrey and Parnell.) I think in most cases I went with the quality over the quantity.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 18, 2010 Author Posted January 18, 2010 Well Perez pitched at replcaement rate, so I've got no apologies for him.I guess some of those others were too close to replacment rate, but ERA+ isn't as accurate as OPS+ and I need to make adjustments there.
