Howard can't slump forever

Pedro has more left than Andy P.

It's win or season over...and I can't go through the whole winter listening to my front-running, bandwagon-jumping YLDB brother blathering on about the MFY.

Howard wants no part of the SO record....well he has part of it but he doesn't want to stand alone ...

My front running cousin from Ireland who lives in Syracuse actually bought a MFY ALCS Champion cap.....a moron no doubt and I don't want him buying a WS cap.

This feels a little like Game 6 of the '04 ALCS, in that if Philly only takes it the momentum for Game 7 will just be crushing. I have no idea what to expect...

I'm hoping we see an Andy Pettitte circa 2001 Game 6 moment. He retired 5 of the 14 batters he faced that night and left in the 3rd already down 4-0 and with two runners on.
Then - thanks to ace reliever Jay Witasik who came in and promptly went (check out this sequence!): single, single, single, single, K, single, double, single, double, K - both of Pettitte's two remaining runners scored and each hurler wound up charged with 6 earned runs. Only a GiDP plus a runner getting thrown out at the plate kept the D'Backs lead at "only" two touchdowns heading into the fourth.

Pettitte's pitched over his head in the last half of this season and it's about time that he blows one up. A potential clinching game on short rest is just that opportunity I thinks.

And yes, Andy, we would like urine sample. No need to excuse yourself. Piss right here, thanks.

Not just win, but get Pettitte out early so we don't have see that close-up of him looking over his glove. Overrated Director Bill Webb uses that shot so much that it has become a cliche.

Are you kidding?
Anything he does so we don't have to look at an entire Yankee face is worth it.

Let's face it. What we're all secretly wishing for is a 9th inning error by Jeter allowing the winning run to score, making a loser of Rivera.
C'mon.
Fess up.
Admit it.

And then in the bottom of the 9th, Jeter comes up with the bases loaded, none out, and he hits into a triple play.

Oh, you think some umpire is gonna have the stones to call that on Jeter? One of those outs would be called safe even if the runner falls face down on top of Chase Utley's glove two feet away from the bag.

I'd rather see the Phillies down by a run with two outs and bases loaded, with Cap'n Herps booting an easy grounder then throwing one into the (empty) seats behind first base.

Klapisch the next day would blame the Mets, or say Jeter got some soft rain in his eyes.

I think a 17-run difference that sucks all the drama out by the fourth inning would be fine.
