The number of days where there are AL & NL games together doesn't change from the old format, it just takes longer to complete. Game 1 tonight -- Hamels vs Kershaw

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Dodgers up 1-0 on a Loney solo HR.Victorino pulls the same bush league move he did against the Mets this summer -- caught in a rundown, and goes WAY out of the basepath in an attempt to "collide" with an infielder nowhere near his way. Which, IIRC, some CPFers defended, to my dismay. He's a **** is what I'm saying.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 That was me arguing with you back then.My point was not that Victorino was right, only that it should be on the ump for falling for the ruse not on him for trying to get the call.I didn't see this one as I tuned in late.

And again, the umps didn't call him out for that (he was tagged before he made it back to first). To me it's a bush league play, like A-Rod slapping the ball out of the guy's hand back a few years ago.Meanwhile stupid Carlos Ruiz puts the Phils up 3-1 with a home run.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Ruiz? Carlos F-ing Ruiz? Kershaw shoulda shaved. Look stupid, pitch stupid. And now he puts Hamels on. Still nobody out in the 5th.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 For those scoring at home*, Talliver Perez over here now has three walks and three wild pitches.Howard's double makes it two XBH in the same inning... one more will complete the symmetry.*And if you are, your loneliness saddens me.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 Well this game just got fun again.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 An Utley throwing error on a DP ball opens the door for Manny who delivers the two run smash! 5-4 Phils, go LA!
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 After Hamels got all Peyton-Manning-blaming-the-receivers-after-an-interception following the blown DP, I'm glad his ass got tagged. Manny made a correction there between at-bats AND hit a good pitch out. Just... wow.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Manny is some hitter , that wasn't a terrible pitch.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 How about Belliard , from DC to this had got to feel good.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 I'll say this for Manuel-- he gets his money's worth out of the rubber-armers.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 It's spot like this why they traded for Thome
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Every time I see Manuel walk I think of the Phillie Phanatic.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 Darling's right, the umps shouldn't allow this change.Just another in a long line of reasons why these games take 4 hours.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Who do we have to kill to get Kuo in our pen? I LOVE this guy."AND he spot-starts, too!"
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Gotta love Kid Pro Kuo.And how about this Chan Ho Park guy?

Worse beard than Tom Cruise. Is it me, or is this Dodger pen-- Troncoso, Kuo, Sherrill, Broxton-- the biggest-assed pen in the majors?

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Walk the leadoff guy, pitch around the second guy, hang breaking ball in the middle of the plate to power hitter. Sherrill bascially played Bullpen Goofus there.Wait... WHY did they pull Kuo, again? Is this a Torre "eighth-inning guy" thing?

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Well here we go.Good news: Tying run at the plate.Bad news: It's Juan Pierre.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Manny kinda looked creaky-- slow on the trigger, head flying out on the swing-- on that AB, no?Sigh.Prediction: Lidge puts two on, then pops up a couple and ends it.

Gotta burn the Dodger fans. And how do the Phils get away with their 8th inning guy giving up 4 hits an inning. christ.
