I always get my son the Mets wall calendar and it's always outdated (I'm not making a calendar pun) by the end of the year because of player changes (e.g. this month features Marlon Anderson). The 2010 calendar is out and it's already outdated:

http://www.amazon.com/York-Mets-2010-Wall-Calendar/dp/1436043204/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1250693635&sr=8-5

January--Wright
Feb--Maine
March--Schneider
April--F. Rodriguez
May--Castillo
June--Pelfrey
July--Beltran
Aug--Putz
Sept--Church (!)
Oct--Johan
Nov--Murphy
Dec--J. Reyes (not A. Reyes)

No Delgado, but I guess they figure he's in a walk year, but so is Putz, right? What's the deal with no Perez and no F-Bomb?

The Schneid for March seems appropriate, since when April comes around he'll be hard to find.

I'd set the over/under at 8.5 for "players on that calender who will actually play in a game for the Mets in 2010."

Nice line-setting, there.

I'd take the over, but only barely. (I do think they bring back Maine. I'm not sure whether I'm rooting for it, but I think it'll happen.)

Replace Putz, Church, and El Schneid with Martinez, Perez, and a Feliciano/Green twofer, I think.

If you love it so much, why don't you go write a book* about it?

*Or, alternatively, a popular, updated-daily blog.

Somewhere in that suggestion arises, from the archives, a brief review of the book on which it was based.

Just got hold of the calendar today. Mostly '60s images, everything gets sepia-toned for effect. One of the 12 pages is the Mets in the Polo Grounds which, as a Polophile, I greatly appreciate, but as the owner of a Shea Stadium calendar I find a bit off-key. Still, highly recommended from here.
