Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I know. Seriously. It's not as if Crawford or Suzuki were running and there was no chance to get the runner at the plate. A half decent effort would've kept the run from scoring.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Go away, Bono. No one cares anymore.

He's already screwed up at least one All-Star Game.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Aw hell. I just asked them NOT to bring in Hoffman. And they're smacking him around. And Tejada's a fibber and a cheater. Why is he in the All-Star Game.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Thank you, Tejada. I stand corrected.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 ="OlerudOwned"]You crossed the fucking line, McCarver. Nobody disses Benny.(I'm assuming he meant Hawaiian all-stars, which just makes him a boob incapable of forming complete thoughts verbally.)Before I guess wrong, can somebody tell me what T-Mac said here?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Taco Bell + whores + white guys doing hip-hop + breakdancing + bling on Pepsis = huge win.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Referred to the Phillies' douchebag centerfielder as the first Hawaiian position player in MLB.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Sid Fernandez must have been one of the Hawaiian pitchers to appear in an All-Star Game, right?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Darling in 1985, Sid in 1986 and 1987.Charlie Hough in 1986 also, in one of the best appearances ever.

Not sure if he said Hawaiin-born All-Star or merely implied it.Answer = Darling, Charlie Hough, & Sid Fernandez
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I forgot about Darling -- shame on me -- but I had no idea Charlie Hough was Hawaiian.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Proof that Charlie Manuel is a moron: he substituted Jayson Werth for Shane Victorino in centerfield. Does he really think that Werth is a better centerfielder than Victorino? Perhaps he'd like to make that switch when the Phillies are playing the Mets.
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Buck and McCarver blow large chunks. Hate to say it but I can stomach Miller, Morgan and Phillips easier than these humps. Karros and Rose bring less than nothing to the table, too.FOX sucks.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Fman99 wrote:="Frayed Knot"]They give these TV producers too many toys to play with. Those hand-held cameras were at a ridiculous (like knee-high) angle for the AL All-Stars which was great if the purpose was to see up their nostrils. And then we never really saw Obama's pitch because they insisted on shooting it with the hand-held from the 3rd base side of the mound. They got their close-up but lost the throw in the process. I think it reached Pujols but I'll have to take someone's word for it.We commented on this too. For all of the crystal clear quality of Fox sports in HD their production values suck like a John Waters movie. We also never got to see Musial except in an extremely long-shot. Now maybe that was intentional since the man (or The Man) is 88 and hasn't been in good health in recent years -- but from what we saw on TV it could have been some actor in a red sportcoat pretending to be Musial and no one would have known the difference.

Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Crawford is a very good player. Nice catch.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Yowza. And that's why we lower the Citi fences next year-- robbing folks is fun.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Punk Werth's sleeves are way too long. Remember when Derek Bell tried that and the league got on his case?
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Rats!Bleeping Heath Bell is going to extract his revenge by costing the Mets the home field advantage in the World Series.
