Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 That's the answer to the burning question of whether the Wounded Mets are better than the Playing Mets. Oh, sure, the front four are relatively fearsome, but they still don't have anything approaching the depth. Even only measuring with a five-man pen and no bench, I'm scraping the AA/AAA borderline to find wounded Mets to round out the gimpy team.Still, a healthy version of the HurtMerts could probably take one out of three (if the pitching matchup favored them).Active MetsHurt Mets1) Cora, ss1) Reyes, ss2) Murphy, 1b/Castillo, 2b2) Pagan, rf3) Wright, 3b3) Beltran, cf4) Church, rf4) Delgado, 1b5) Tatis, lf5) Valentin, c6) F. soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I think I saw that Valentin was released recently....?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I needed a hurt catcher and recalled him.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Edgy, you can use my kid Jordan Abruzzo as the catcher. He had been on the DL and then extended spring training because of an injured throwing arm. He was just activated and joined St. Lucie this week, but only as a DH because he still can't throw properly. At least he's still Mets property.Later
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Plus by using Abruzzo and his injured throwing arm it will give the "hurt" line up a nostalgic touch since he'll likely throw like Piazza did.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I hear that the GM for the Hurt Mets is in negotiations with Gary Sheffield.
