Sitting against the lefty, because the book says lefties can't hit lefties, even if this lefty has hit lefties pretty well?

No more pulling Santana with like 95 pitches. He's going to get an extra day of rest this time through, so all the starters should be pushed just a little bit more.

They've been utterly merciless on Molina. (The long-stride power pitcher procession doesn't help-- guys like Lincecum and Johnson are TERRIBLE at holding on runners.)

I'm thinking that Mannuel is playing Sheffield regularly right now because the loss of Delgado does leave a void in power in the lineup.

I've decided that I don't want Bengie Molina this offseason. He'd have to hit like Piazza to make all these stolen bases an acceptable loss.

Sanchez is the 2nd worst lefty in the league at holding runners, and the rest of these clowns are much good either.

Molina has thrown out 33% for his career, including 35, 30, 18, 31 the last 4 years (he's at 22% so far this year) he did so with 3 different teams, so you can probably say that represents his true ability rather than a reflection of the pitching staffs he caught.

thats not to say i necessaruly want him, but his ability to throw out runners wouldnt be the reason i'd want to stay away

How didn't he win last year? I mean, Maddux is great, don't get me wrong... but at this point, he simply CAN'T be the equal of Johan, athletically. (Hell, I'd go Zambrano over Maddux these days.)

The Giants are flailin' and failin' with Santana's changeup.

Fox booth talking about why Bochy starts lefthanded hitting Ishikawa at first base instead of the righthanded batting Aurelia. Karros states, that Santana's best pitch is a change up and by starting the lefthanded batter you effectively take that pitch away from him. Befor he can even complete the sentence, Ishikawa flails helplessly at a change up to strike out and end the inning.

Too bad Santana can't throw the change to lefties. Damn, he would be unbelievable if he could do that. Maybe if the announcers would shut their mouths and open their eyes they wouldn't sound so clueless sometimes.

I used to like Randy Johnson, especially in 2001 when he beat the Yankees in the Series. Then he became a Yankee, and I disliked him. Now that he's a Giant, I can't get over the Yankee taint.
