Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 The Brewers are arriving Friday but are off today and their bench coach of course is with his first true love this afternoon. You know, the one that loves him so much they wouldn't consider hiring him either. As for tomorrow, David Lennon of Newsday sez:]I think you might see Wright walk over to say hello. Beyond that, I'm betting the rest of the Mets keep their distance during batting practice. It's going to be an awkward few days at Citi Field. What a completely unnecessary tragedy this became.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Why is the name of God would Willie be treated like that by the players? I guess Delgado's crew will avoid him , this is beyond silly.

Ok, now I stopped and I'm scared you're on to something.Frayed Knot Apr 16 2009 06:57 PMI know the Carlos/Willie stuff makes for good copy, if for no other reason than because his turn-around (more or less) coincided with the managerial change. But let's review now that Delgado has three full seasons in the book:- He was real good during year 1 plus the back half of year 3- and not-so-good during year 2 and the front half of year 3about 80% of that time were Willie games. So does anybody really think he was either slumping because of Willie, or that he was tanking it in order to get rid of him? ... particularly seeing as how neither one of which does himself any good.Elster88 Apr 16 2009 07:11 PM="MFS62":2l78sr07]I hope Delgado doesn't see him and go into a slump.Later[/quote:2l78sr07]What happened to the thread for memorable posts?Nymr83 Apr 16 2009 07:15 PMJerry today said Willie is still his good friend, they talked over the offseason, and he can't wait to see him. no story here folks.
