Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Yup I know you meant hop just messing with you.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Gary tells us Young David has struck out 13 times in his first 33 at-bats. Yuck.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Short list of things I don't need to be told.Cherish Ralph Kiner.
Guest *62 Guests Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Should the Mets mount a comeback, O'Day, Feliciano, and Stokes get serious Schaefer points.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 CASTRO!!I guess the Mets knew what they were doing when they cut Sanchez.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Sheffield almost hit that one to Shea
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Frankie sounds like he had the good stuff tonight. Ninth inning. Last dance, last chance for love...
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Now that's the way I like to see the Mets closer work. Now if the team could suceed at handing him a lead to protest with some regularity.Lets Go Mets!!!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Hey, Padres, your names are on detachable shields. That's so Torre-era.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Wow the home plate ump must have really been cold. Two horrible calls as strikes.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Delgado gets a reprieve in that the foul ball he hit would have been caught if the 3rd baseman wasn't in over-shift playing the SS position.and then he strikes out on a very questionable call.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Gaemday has that clearly outside. Bad game by Gary Darling.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Make no mistake, Alex Cora should be standing at 1st base as the tying run right now.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 A questionable call sure enough but it looked letter high, maybe a bit outside .
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Fuck Heath Bell. I hope he enjoys closing for a 90 loss team.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Somehow, deriding the Padres unworthiness after they just beat the Mets two out of three games in their new ballpark doesn't make me feel any better. I know the season is very young, but this team has succeeded in dampening my excitement for this season. I'm sure winning two games in a row would greatly improve my mood.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Delgado has got to be protecting the plate, yes/no?Hard to be critical of him though.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 metirish wrote:A questionable call sure enough but it looked letter high, maybe a bit outside .it was outside. and although it was letter high, and letter high is a strike in the rulebook, its not a strike that was being called all game (heck, it hasnt been called consistently for as long as i've been following baseball)
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Yeah, the Mets lost this one in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th, every bit as much as the 9th.Yeah, sounds goofy but Maine's 2 bad innings came directly after having bad sac bunt attempts.Very nice new stadium I say, but awfully cold weather.

He's extremely pleased with himself. Which I guess he has a right to be but a childish part of me is very happy that he's going to play for a losing team this year.
