They barely got the out at home and the runner caughtup would have been surer out (we'd be questioning why throw home if hescored).Wouldn't the run have counted if he crossed the plate before the other rundown ended? Granted, I'm not actually watching the game so I don't know how quickly/easily they could've tagged the runner from first.
Guest *62 Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Cheap out on the pickoff to make himself eligible for a W.At least he .... battled. And on to the pen.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 OO: Wouldn't the run have counted if he crossed the plate before the other rundown ended? <<<Yes, and the runner was pretty far from Castillo. Didn't think that far.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Parnell comes on. Let's see what you got, kid!
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Woo, I found a free radio stream after the TV one sputtered and died a final time.Just in time to hear Parnell walk a batter, with pinch hitter Ayncelay Ixnay
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Nice inning by Parnell to get the ground ball after walking two.Don't kid yourself, the kid can throw some heat. Clocked at 97 on the first strike to that last batter.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Parnell pitching is like Murphy hitting, he just looks like he belongs.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Boo ya!RBI hit for Delgado, Wright beats the throw home.Scary headfirst slide at the plate. I had nervous there for a minute.Walking Beltran to get to Churchie.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Delgado really doing a ton to alleviate my concerns that he's be First-Half-of-'08 Carlos this season. He's blazing out of the gate.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Small bit of nitpicking, but I don't like how the Reds didn't update their primary mark when they overhauled the uniforms. The new workmark script they use is gorgeous, and perfectly fitting for a time with such a long history. But why not use it in the logo, too? A little consistency can do wonders for us geeks.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Wow the Reds play defense like the Bad News Bears, sans Kelly Leek.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Way to be, Schneid. Mets making the most of their chances, though not without help.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Great inning! Pelf exhales.Marlon Anderson not impressing.

Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Talking to myself now, but turns out somebody at the Chris Creamer Logo boards already made a fantastic concept based around the idea I was talking about.http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg180/bohob_4_life/MLB%20Redesign%20Project/reds_id-1.jpg
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Eh. Pedro Feliciano comes out and says, "Hey, let's think about 2008."
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Freaking Feliciano. Painful memories.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 No, that was dreadful. That's the kind of crap that got the rest of the pen shipped out of town.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Green guides his pitches with body English.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Yea Jose! Now let's get through these next two and call it a night!
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 No beer for Feliciano or Green tonight.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Keith comparing plays on the field to men's tennis?
