Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Anyone know exactly what happened to him?I know he'd gotten fines for being late and drinking in 1983, and didn't have a good season. But he was only 26 and coming off a 300/400/500, 100 RBI, 50-steal season in Class AAA when we acquired him.He was released just prior to spring training in 1984 and never played pro ball again except for a brief run with an unaffiliated Class A team in the Western League, the San Jose Bees. His UMDB memory page has one guy recalling he drew a gun on Strawberry (?) but I don't recall that. It also appears to include memories from a son, Mark Bradley Jr., which are just heartbreaking.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Junior says he went to Rice University, but he's not on the roster.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Two things about Bradley:1) I snapped a picture of him in St. Petersburg just before a Mets-MFY game was rained out.2) Howie Rose tells the story of Bradley flubbing and lollygagging a fly ball when he was pitching in San Fran. When the play was over, Seaver stood on the mound, hands on hips and glared in his direction. When asked about it upon his election to the Hall, Seaver said he didn't remember it, but if he did that, he shouldn't have shown up a teammate.None of this answers the question about what happened to him.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 What's astounding about that page is that there's a disappointing (and apparently troubled) ex-prospect and there's nobody abusing him. Have Shari and Mr. Sparkle hung 'em up?
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Poor kid didn't even have his old man's number. The brother offered it up in the last post. And Pam is a hussie.
