HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Oh, fuck. They make it look easy to score when they get a baserunner.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 the Cubs are winning. the Mets are collapsing. A loss would mean a wild card tie with 4 to play
Guest mario25 Guests Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 crap hit...off the end of the bat

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Can't blame the pen for this crap.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 And the Philllies dropped two in a row to the Braves. It was all right there for them. Now who knows with Pedro tomorrow.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 The number of times the Mets have ripped my heart out recently is beyond incredible.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 And there is the icing on the cake. Why do I do this to myself
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Ok Nymr get some sleep.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 It was all there--a g.d., motherf'in flyball by Wright or Church, and we're dancing off to sleep, dreaming of being tied for first by this time tomorrow. The Cubs said "here, take it" and they couldn't. Wright froze and everybody else did NOTHING. We may be seeing this game in our minds all winter.
Guest mario25 Guests Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 2008 Mets slogam A committment to excrement
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 It's like Rickey Schroeder is pitching against us.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 We had a leadoff triple......I just can't get over that.
Guest mario25 Guests Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 David Wright's shitty Ab in the 9th was a killer
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Knot - "7th inning was the line-out DP inning actually, but I get your point."Your're correct. It was the 6th inning that Church, Evans, and AReyes all struck out swinging while Beltran was busy stealing second and third and hoping someone would hit the ball.Damn, this is very painful to watch. So many great opportunities they have just let slip away tonight. Mario25 - "crap hit...off the end of the bat"Good job of hitting, just putting a good pitch in play with 2 strikes. If only the Mets had done that just once in their numerous opportunities, rather than flailing away (often at pitches out of the strike zone), we would all be celebrating a great night by now.
Guest mario25 Guests Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Scary players coming off the bench too.chavez, Evans and Castillo..opposing managers have to laugh...dont forget Marlon Anderson too
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Too many squandered scoring opportunities tonight. It's a war from here on out for the Wildcard. I believe they pretty much sealed their fate tonight regarding the divisional crown.
Guest mario25 Guests Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Leadoff Triple....How dont we score there I am sick to my stomach
Guest mario25 Guests Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I feel for myself and all of the diehard Mets fans on this site that go through this BS.......It can never be easy. Even in 86 we had to win on a freakin fluke and the Mets were dominant that year. I know how you guys feel
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Wow.I counted 3 moments of elated celebration, 3 stomach punches, and two kicks to the groin. I think.I was pleased to see the stadium mostly filled but the crowd was poor overall, especially when the Mets needed them most (and I don't just mean the bottom of the 10th).Both the most exciting game and biggest surprise loss since '06.
Guest KC Guests Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I've been trying not to think about the last four innings of this game. Ofcourse someone had to just bring it up at my doorway ... freakin' Yanksfan, of course. I asked her if she was jumpin' on the Cubbie band wagonthis year's playoffs and she said ya gotta. 100 years bbbyyy.I've never witnessed anything like that in any sports playoff type game. It's just mind boggling I can't even think of anything to say.
