"My shoulder's a little tight"

Not good. But that article does make it seem that its not as big as the headline makes it out to be.

My money is on Sanchez being the closer if Wagner really does need to rest.

And if Wagner does, hopefully Manuel doesn't pull a Randolph and not have Wagner DLed retroactively so the Mets can play shorthanded for a week or so.

Looper came out of nowhere in the midst of his struggles and had one glorious outing where he muscled up, threw high cheese, and blew them away. And he was never the same again.

I don't need that reminder Edgy!

Then again, Wagner is one of the all-time greatest lefty relievers*, so he HAS to pull through!

*According to a stat nerd on general baseball forum that disagreed with my notion that Wagner is not a mortal lock for the HOF.

Wagner is both one of the all-time greatest lefty relievers, and not a mortal lock for the HOF. Hardly mutually exclusive.

Considering there isn't a single lefty reliever in the Hall of Fame, it seems silly to think there is a distinction.

It's hardly enshrining (much less, a mortal lock for the Hall) to suggest that Billy Wagner sniffs the same air as Dave Righetti, John Franco, Randy Myers, Jesse Orosco, Sparky Lyle, Ron Perranoski, and Tug McGraw. Are you arguing that he can't qualify for this class?

I mean, who else is out there? Stanton? Assenmacher? Plesac?

I thought your point was what you posted.

I think I said that. My point was that Wagner was not a mortal lock, despite being the one of the greatest, okay, THE greatest as I came around to realizing lefty closer of all time.

Let's get off the irrelevant stuff already and make plans for three Wagnerless weeks.

Party at my place!

Really, I'm certain Sanchez and/or Heilman could deal for a few weeks. Eddie Kunz? Sure, why not.

Ehh, I'll take the devil I know heading into a stretch with heightened importance.

Give me Sanchez though over Heilman.

Ehhh, while Perez was a nice, if sporadic "steal," I'm a little wary of dealing for pen help in emergency situations.

It could lead to rather rash decisions that come back to bite you in the rear.

Wrong.

All blame goes to Minaya for failure to DL players in a timely fashion.

Yeah, but everything was Willie's fault so why not this too?

Wags is apparently feeling better and won't even need an MRI so it sounds like he's good to go against the Phils
