Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Will Carroll at BP reporting that Peterson's been fired.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I'm guessing that means Willie is safe...?
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 It says, "sources tell him" and, "this cannot be confirmed" ... not exactlycutting edge news. This whole sources thing the last couple of weeks is tiring. I hope a couple ofpeople come out in the end and make the Mets brass look like ass-wipes evenmore than they're coming across.

As yet, this cannot be confirmed, though reports this weekend have been leaning this way. Well know more shortlyno confirmation anywhere else and not even a mention on WFAN so far
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Carroll admits his sources are shit:]UPDATE: The sources were both incorrect. My apologies for the error. I consistently got no comments from Mets sources and do believe that Peterson remains in jeopardy. However, that decision has not yet been made or made public
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Oh, he believed. Well, that's one way to vet information before printing it.See, shit like that isn't the Mets' fault.

If there is even any "rumbling" on any kind of source, another radio station, paper, a random blog, you can bet 1050 ESPN Radio will run it without any kind of double checking. Even after its been denied by all involved!
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 ="AG/DC"]Oh, he believed. Well, that's one way to vet information before printing it.See, shit like that isn't the Mets' fault.Exactly, and that makes others feel that the reality of the situation is that the manager and coaches really are being treated on a day-to-day, minute-to-minute basis and they don't know when the axe is going to fall. That may be true, but then again, it might still not be true. But with all these rumors and rumblings going around, hardly ANY of it coming from official sources, it makes anti-Met people like Michael Kay (granted he is more pro-Willie than anti-Met) think that the Met organization are a bunch of scumbags for this.

Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Oh, I apologize for jumping the gun yesterday evening. I should have qualified my statement with a "sources told him" or something like that. Sorry, won't happen again.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 i was bashing on Carroll for publishing a story with no sources or bullshit ones, wasnt attacking you
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Well, hopefully this means more pinstripes at home!

Guest AG/DC Guests Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Recent polls suggest 100% of posters are unfooled by you changing your handle. Considering your syntax, punctuation, and spelling are unchanged, it's pretty easy.Since you resigned (again) last time cursing people out, and were subsequently banned, I'm not really going to sweat it when you throw dung around the forum and cry that you're abused.
