Guest AG/DC Guests Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Second concussion already in this young season. And, no, thank you, Deadspin. I'm not comforted by Jeter getting hurt in the Yankee game and their struggles over there. I want to know: who is going to pick Churchie up?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 I dunno whether anyone else noticed but looked like Church took a shot to the noggin in the 1st inning too when catching that faul ball. He was in outer space monetarily while Escobar tagged and went to 2nd.I'm no brain injury expert but 14 days on the DL seems prudent. As for replacements, we haven't got any. I wanted to start a thread about how much Easley and Anderson have sucked this year but I don;t have the courage to face up to it.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Felt an eerie flashback to August 30, 2003 when young Jose lay on the ground at second to end the game. Different injury, different expectations, different time...but still. Not pretty.Be careful with Churchie. As with Jose five years ago, he's a big chunk of what we have to look forward to.

Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 I was at that 2003 game. I bet he'd still turn out to be a great player. My dad thought he'd be robbed of his speed. Luckily, I won that bet.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Evidently, he's OK.http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/baseball/mets/blog/2008/05/church_feeling_ok.html
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 ]Church added that he was still spitting out small rocks late into the night.Weird. But not as weird as blue arms.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Church does get the night off, however. Endy in right.
