Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Dammit, I have a great graphic set up for Senator Chicken.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Nats load the bases for Brian Schneider.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Well, that's one way.And I'll take it.And bedtime for Bonzo.
Guest Triple Dee Guests Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Survey says.........................One more for the GOOD GUYS!!!
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Holy crap, Ray Knight looks old!
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 The Nats should have won this game about 3 times before they lost.A win is a win and a sweep is a sweep, but that took way too long against the worst team in baseball.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Interesting concept; the offense trying to advance runners kept giving the defense outs while the defense kept trying for outs but wound up giving offense all kinds of extra bases.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 What the hell, I'll put up my Senator Chicken graphic in celebration:
Guest Triple Dee Guests Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 A special thank you to Hanrahan for euthanizing this game.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I just watched the 14th inning on TiVo delay. (I went to bed last night after the 13th.)I was awfully surprised that David Wright saw three pitches before they decided to intentionally walk him. Seemed like an obvious move to me.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Also, did anyone catch Gary Cohen's indirect plug of Mets By the Numbers at the beginning of last night's game? They showed a couple of kids with Mets uniform numbers painted on their cheeks. (5 7 15 57, or something like that) and Gary said, simply, "Mets by the numbers."And that was that.

Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 A Mets Hall-of-Famer plugging your book on air --- if that's not a secular benediction, I don't know what is.I don't recall, but I hope the book wasn't too hard on Gary.I quit after 13 --- it may have been the sleepiest day of my adult life. Don't sell this game short --- the Mets should have won it three times also.

Did a talk with MetsGrrl and another writer at my local bookstore, attended by, among others, the CPF's own Gwreck. So I missed the 1st to 7th innings, but afterward we repaired to the local watering hole where we wound up getting plenty of baseball anyway.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
