Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Considering those returning players who are probables for this year's 25-man roster, we go into the year w/a 24 y/o as the one with the most continous service time on the team and only 4 who were Mets prior to opening day '05: 2008 NYM SeniorityPLAYER1st NYM Game Pedro Feliciano*Sept 4, 2002Jose ReyesJune 10, 2003Aaron HeilmanJune 26, 2003David WringhtJuly 21, 2004Pedro MartinezApril 4, 2005Carlos BeltranApril 4, 2005Ramon CastroApril 7, 2005Billy WagnerApril 3, 2006Carlos DelgadoApril 3, 2006Endy ChavezApril 6, 2006John MaineMay 2, 2006Orlando HernandezMay 26, 2006Mike PelfreyAugust 8, 2006Oliver PerezAugust 26, 2006Moises AlouApril 1, 2007Joe SmithApril 1, 2007Scott SchoeneweisApril 3, 2007Jorge SosaMay 5, 2007Jose CastilloJuly 31, 2007* time not continous, wasn't on 2005 team.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I would never have pegged Ramon Castro to be a guy who would one day be starting his fourth year with the Mets.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Feliciano is a fun case. He appears, when you look at his record, to be a continuous Met. In fact he's been lost once to the Tigers on winter waivers, where he was reclaimed after the Tiggs released him from camp, and signed once by the Fukuoka Hawks where he played for a year. So, by one definition, he's a Met lifer, and by another definition, he's the only three-time Met in history.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 According to Ben Shipgel, Aaron Heilman's seniority finally paid off as he got his own reserved parking place in Port St. Lucie. (I seem to recall he was miffed that he didn't get one last year).
