Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 As per ESPN.com.This guy didn't even have a great 2006-2007, and he's going from the NL to the AL. He was pretty consistently good in 2003-2005 but that was a few years ago.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Ahh, the fickle market for relief pitchers ... you can't predict it and you can't depend on it.Rumor has it that right after acquiring Perez & Robo Hernandez from Pittsburgh Omar was trying to flip Oliver to SD for Linebrink (or maybe Linebrink + something). If true I'm glad it didn't work.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I thought Linebrink was the most overrated of this year's group of FA relievers, so I don't mind seeing somebody else commit to him for four years. Riske has less of a rep and won't command more than Linebrink, but he's better. I'm definitely curious about Troy Percival's asking price.

Turns out that holding onto Ollie was the way to go.
