Guest attgig Guests Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 so, I was thinking about how ridiculous the infield is amongst the NL EAST teams. even just between the mets and phils, you have an incredible infield. so, out of curiosity, what would be your all-NL EAST starters and pitching rotation:C McCann1B Howard2B UtleySS Reyes (toss up btw reyes and hanley)3B Wright (definitely an argument for Chipper and Cabrera, but the steals..)OF BurrellOF BeltranOF RowandSP SmoltzSP HudsonSP HamelsSP PerezSP GlavineI wonder which division would field the strongest team... (does anyone come close to the AL East?)
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I'll try the NL Central.C - Johnny Estrada 1B -Prince Fielder 2B - Brandon Phillips 3B - Aramis Ramirez SS - J.J. metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I think the NL Central matches up good against the NL East.I should say my NL Central team...
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Stick Miggy in the NL East outfield.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Sounds silly but trying to pick the AL outfield was not easy,it's just not that good IMO.....or many of them are having crap seasons.

Guest sharpie Guests Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I think if you're making up All-Star teams you've got to play by Major League rules -- need to have at least one player for each team. Current NL East and NL West ones don't do that.

Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I tend to wonder what life would be like if Hanley and Miggy were Mets and Reyes/Wright were Marlins. Because, honestly, the duo in Florida is probably a hair better.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Even after you factor in defense?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I agree that we have the better defenders.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 We still have the AL West. And Vlad and I disagree on two NL Westers.

I don't think that's necessary.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I do.(on edit): When I click on my "player" Frank Viola, I get Jerry Buchek.
