Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Damn. That was the ugliest strikeout ever.
Guest Mendoza Line Guests Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Groans for Delgado. Major groans.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Infield fly only applies with two or three forced runners. There wer two runners, but only one was forced.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Who cares that we lost!! That 3-run ninth gave us a club record 10 straight games scoring 5 runs or more!!
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Easier not to care when the Phils and Braves lose. I ain't gonna harp on it, but Delgado looks like a third of his former self.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I'd be scared shitless to meet the Padres in the post-season,Peavey seems to be exactly they type of dominating pitcher that the Mets don't have, don't get me wrong I would have faith in whoever the Mets had going against Peavey but he'd be scary to possibly face twice in a series.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Nobody is a bargain in the post-season. If you asked me who I wanted to go up against last year, I'd have answered St. Louis before you were done with the quesiton. The two teams match up well and it'd be a heckuva series. Most offputting thing in this series has been Wagner back to nibbling against good righties. Most gratifying thing has been getting to their league-leading pen and particularly that running-on-fumes Hall-of-Fame closer. His strikeout of Delgado was on three junk pitches down-and-away, none in the zone and none cracking 77 miles per hour. It'll be a crackling rubber match tonight, and a good time for Tom Glavine to show his quality.
