Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I was half right. It's still close, but I wish I had been right about the Mets leading.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Bases loaded with no outs, we need to blow this game open right here. Come on Moises.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Damn, both the Phillies and Braves are leading their respective games by a run.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Moises delivers. A 2 run single on the first pitch to him. Keep it going team. It's your turn Lastings.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Alou does something good. If I'm Jim Tracy I punish Chacon by making him wear his hat properly for 5 games straight.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Moises parts the Pirate-infested waters! Two runs score!
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 That is not what the doctor ordered.DiFelice grounds into an inning ending DP.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 The ugliest man alive is up at bat.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Damn. This team is trying to drive me crazy. The Pirates open the bottom of the 8th with back to back singles off Sosa. Wilson sac bunts the runners to second and third for pinch hitter Xavier Nady.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Nady gets one run home for the Pirates with a "productive out". Two outs now, but the tying run stands at third. In the good old days, this is when a manager would call on his closer to get a 4 out save. Unfortunately, the game has changed, so here comes Schoeneweis to face McLouth.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 It'll look like a strikeout in the boxscore. WTG, Schoey.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 By my count, Wagner has 20 "perfect" appearances this year. That would be outings of at least 1 full inning with no baserunners.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Make that 21 (btw, 15 for Rivera)
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Put it in the books!!!Time for the Happy Recap.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Nice to get the win but they still played like crap. It's infuriating to leave runners on base, but another thing altogether to leave them on third with less than 2 outs.We were lucky to get the tying run on Beltran's DP ball, but we got hosed by the call. Not only didn't he catch it, he was off the base if he did. Plus we dodged a bullet there with Wright's shoulder (If that were a drop, Wilson would have been called for obstruction right?) I can't believe Willie doesn't come out to argue some of these calls. Umps are human...they know that if they call the close ones against the Mets, they'll hear nothing from their manager.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Willie did argue the double-play drop.I really felt for Jack Wilson. What an awful season.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 I hope he has a bad night Wednesday, too. Teds in section 114. Last time we saw them in PIT they got humiliated in a three-game sweep and ruined my chance to see them clinch the pennant. Yup, it's all about me.
