Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 "LoDuca - C"Willie's a Liar!!!Players dictating lineups to the manager!!!Cats and dogs living together!!!Apocolypse NOW!!!!Or not.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Joe Morgan - "Jon,one of the reasons the Cubs are so good is that they brought in new players over the off season,Soriano,Lilly...."..
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Willie sporting the Mets arm sling to go with his Mets watch.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Men on first and third with two out for Alou, looked terrible getting struck out.Miller talking like Marquis and Glavine were great buddies in Atlanta, but didn't they have a fallen out,at least in the eyes of Marquis?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Gameday practically had a tin can icon standing in for that pitch.Feck it. I'm heading to a bar to watch me some ESPN history.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Both the Mets and Glavine need this win tonight. I would like to see some early scoring by the good guys.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Woohoo.Crazy stealing second with 2 out and pitcher up pays off as Glav drives in Millidge with a single up the middle.mets up, 1-0.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Nice highlight of Glavine skulling Bonds.Just got back from Chicago. My Mets-in-person-winless streak continues, but it's always a thrill to see the boys in person.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 I was seriously considering keeping track of all the inaccurate and/or stupid things said by Miller and Morgan tonight. Most recently: "Soriano hit 40 homers playing in RFK stadium" (Actually, Jon, he played half his games there, and hit fewer than half his homers there).
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 My 10-year-old just said (wishfully) "Oscar the Cat is in the Cubs' dugout!"
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 WHOASoriano goes down!Rally never happens!BIG BIG BIG
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Yikes (if you're a Cubs fan)
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 That's gonna be 6 weeks. At least.

At least. They r saying it could be just a cramp, and I can see that. But ive never had a cramp like that while in motion. Just after maybe. If hes down for any period of time this is huge.Esp fantasy baseball wise (hes on my bros team and we are in a seesaw battle this week.He has Soriano going tonight, I have 3rd basebman Ramirez)
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I figured letting loDuke outta the gate tonight was good, and his bat would be fresh and productive. Not as of yet. 0-2, weak grounders both.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Bad break for Soiano and the Cubs. That looked like a pretty bad quad blowout.Upon edit: Glad to hear that it may have just been a cramp.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 think they'll try the 2 out pitcher up steal again?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Rockin' Doc wrote:Upon edit: Glad to hear that it may have just been a cramp.well, this was just speculation from the booth,so....But the way he continued to run and just lifted that leg made me think maybe they are rignt. Ever have the muscle turn over like a twisted pretzel in there.Ouch.Official word just in: Quad pull.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 Interestingly, Willie revealed during his in-game interview with Morgan and Miller that Lastings actually had the red light there when he stole with Glavine up.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 Morgan just said that Luis Castillo had been playing his whole career in the American League and therefore was unfamiliar with Wrigley.Right, Joe. Except the 7 years he played with Florida. You might recall the two world series champion teams he was on.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Castillo grabs his second wind blown pop up of the evening. Joe Morgan promptly misinforms the viewing audience that Castillo had played his entire career in the American League, so he isn't familiar with the winds at Wrigley. Jon Miller, of course, just follows along on the same stream of unconsciousness by adding that Castillo spent most of his time playing in the Metrodome so he isn't accustomed to Wrigley. According to Morgan, the winds always bring high pop ups down the right field line back toward the field of play. Morons.
