Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 Bike to Shea Day (a 3-minute movie).Any of you bikers do this? I want that Mets cycling jersey that one guy is wearing.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 0:25 - 0:27.It was a fun time. Ride is pretty easy. For a weekend afternoon game, I likely see myself biking it again sometime. Not mentioned in the film: Mets lost to the Brewers 12-3 that day in particularly ugly fashion.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 What position does Sandra Van Meek play?
Guest iramets Guests Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 "Left Hottie," I think.I bike to Shea or thereabouts a lot, though I never noticed the bike rack. I usually leave mine chained up in FM-C park, which is what I bike through to get there.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 I'm not buying. She seems to have fake lip issues.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Not hot.My assistant Goo Gel tells me SVM is a former PR flak for the Marlins and ATL Falcons. I didn't buy her frown when she discussed the MFYs in that video. She's only paid to be one of us.
Guest iramets Guests Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 She seems to be a full-time Mets' employee. Her name apparently is spelled "Van" Meek, as Edgy (and common sense) have it, not "Ven Meek" as the film has it. Maybe when you get to be my age, "hot" = "having a pulse."From the 4/8/07 NYT:Shea Parking Will Be Scarce During ProjectBy JOE BRESCIAThe Mets have tentative plans to place replica bases in the parking lot of their new ballpark, Citi Field, to commemorate the site of the infield at Shea Stadium. The more immediate concern to the team's fans may be finding a parking spot to watch José Reyes and his teammates run around the real bases this season. Sandra Van Meek, the Mets' director for market development, said that stadium construction would make 2,100 spaces unavailable in the east parking lot for this season,
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Van Meek is truly outragous.Van Meek is a coordinator for Baseball Information and Policy for the Florida Marlins.Van Meek is a research analyst for the Children's Services.Van Meek is te verdelen in zeg maar vier verschillende periodes.Van Meek is ook het einde van The Tornadoes.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 I've biked past Shea although not on a game day (and also past Keyspan & Yanqui Stadium on the same day).If it were up to me they'd have bike parking areas for the new place. There are some bike-friendly paths leading to that area from the south-east.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2007 Author Posted June 4, 2007 I've biked to Fenway multiple times for the game. There are no bike racks but there's a nice street sign just outside of Gate E. Always nice to lock up and strut into the gate while watching the maroons circling around in their cars looking for $50 parking spots.
