Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 I was even drinking Ruerto Rican rum. You would think Delgado would have shown a little greater appreciatioin.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Gah---we get to the BabyBearPen and get afew on with Delgado-right where we want em-and he slaps into a DP.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 So far this season, Delgado is not really at the top of my wish list in such situations. He just has never really got going this year.
Batty31 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 But when he does finally get going, he'll be on fire for awhile. Hopefully that will be sooner than later...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Did Lou really think Willie WASN'T going to respond to Daryle Ward ph-ing with a LHP?Cubbies are going to run out of both bench & pen pretty soon.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Batty -"But when he does finally get going, he'll be on fire for awhile."I sure hope your right.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Nice play by Easley. It's amazing how much more ground infielders cover when the ball comes up for them as opposed to hugging the turf.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Time to put an end to this thing. The Mets have Easley, a pinch hitter (likely), and Reyes due up.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Reyes with a two out single.Run Reyes, run!
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Jose Reyes is so fast that he created a wind tunnel which caused Blanco's throw to sail errantly.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 And a big steal of 2nd.See that 2nd baseman try and deek Reyes?Endy draws the walk.1st and 2nd, 2 out, Beltran up.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Speed kills baby. Reyes goes, the Cubs pitch out, and Blanco nearly throws it into center. I'm not sure he could have got Reyes even with a good throw, Jose had a huge lead and a great jump. Endy walks. So it falls to Beltran to send the faithful home happy.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Feel insulted, Carlos. Get angry. Take it out on the ball.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Damn, they walk Beltran. The sacks are drunk with Mets and Delgado has a chance once again.
Batty31 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Reyes needs to keep dancing on the third base line...
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Taking the term "walk off" quite literally.
Batty31 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 BALL 4...METS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Great at bat for Delgado. He earns a bases loaded walk by fouling off 4 or 5 pitches. Mets win 5-4.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Never underestimate the power of Ruerto Rican rum!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 almost anti-climactic...but Ill take it.
