Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 The weekly archiving of the forum will commence around 4 pm this afternoon. If there are are threads that have been inactive for 30+ days that you would like to make sure aren't archived be sure to make a post in that thread and/or send me a pm. After the fact complaints such as "I can't find the All-Purpose Navel Gazing thread!!! Why was it archived?!?!" will be laughed at derisively, then ignored.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 So we will have a squid sighting today?
Guest sharpie Guests Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Please keep around all threads that I have participated in or read regularly. The others may go. Thank you.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 I'll use my psychic abilities to their utmost.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 WP: >>>will be laughed at derisively, then ignored<<<In lieu of the tarring and feathering suggested by KC at the last admin meeting.(thanks for keeping up with this Willet)
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 Commence archiving!
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2007 Author Posted April 25, 2007 The Squid will be swimming in around 4 this afternoon to do the weekly archive. Threads that haven't been active since March 27th will be archived offsite unless a) the Squid likes them, you bump the thread, or c) you send me a pm telling me you'd like a particular thread saved in Featured Archives or NBF classics. Thanks!
Guest sharpie Guests Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Why was the film review forum dropped? There seemed to be a justifiable number of postings going on there. Where will the Spiderman 3 polls go?
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Yeah, I thought film reviews almost worked.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 It's under the archives section, sure to get fewer views. Move it back up!
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 The Squid spaced and forgot to archive yesterday. Will try to archive later today. As usual bump or notify me about threads you want to save on the board. The cut off date is April 3.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Please don't archive the pretty thread in the BttA forum. I'll find another pretty picture to post there soon.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 The Squid swims in this afternoon and any threads that have had no posts since April 10 are in danger of meeting the wrath of his tentacles.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Dude, where's my Björk Guðmundsdóttir thread,no one posted in it for weeks then BAM...then you did what to it again? I found it.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 The thread is in the NBF for greater visibility. People here have scrolling issues you know.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2007 Author Posted May 16, 2007 The Squid makes his weekly visit this afternoon. Bump or pm me about any threads that haven't been posted in since April 17 that you want to make sure don't get sent offsite.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2007 Author Posted May 23, 2007 The Squid returns today around 4 pm. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2007 Author Posted May 23, 2007 He's gone now you're safe.I didn't get any of the usual "Where did the _____ thread go?" bitchfests this time, so I suppose the intimidation worked.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Just a dumb queation, this site has the potential to go on for many years,is there a squid in training to archive the future...what will this place look like in 40 years,Willets I have my doubts that you'll be up to the task of archiving at that time.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 some Squids are believed to have lifespans of 50-80 years, so GSLC should be with us for awhile.... unless one of us gets really mad at him and goes after him with a harpoon

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Nymr - "...unless one of us gets really mad at him and goes after him with a harpoon."I was thinking more along the lines of a sushi knife.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 I'm going to let the Squid loose in the forum later this afternoon. Any thread inactive before May 1 is subject to archiving.
