metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Not our best IGT,must be the cold weather, that last double play form the Mets was sweet,Glavien a solid six,Phillies pen is awful,Feliciano pitching.I don't ever remember Willie calling for a squeeze like that.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I doubt it's the only one, but it's not checkable I guess unless someonespecifically remembers one.And whatya mean not our best IGT? Now we're grading them? (j/k)
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 We're opening things up now.Oh, and the Green comment was ironic.
Batty31 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I thought I heard Gary say it was the first squeeze Willie has called for in two years, but I'm not positive.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 This Phillies pen will cost Manuel his job,guy comes in and all he does is walk guys, bases loaded.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 No, somebody else earlier in the year complained about "another bad at-bat" when he was like eight for his first 20.
Batty31 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I guess that's what I must do everytime he's up...not look!
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Feliciano still with a goose egg ERA on the season. Sling it.

Batty31 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I know...but he still makes me nervous.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Cha just saw Batty's sig line, and said, "Oh, by the way, I bought you a pair of socks today."
Batty31 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 ROTFLOL! I see you two have really reached that comfort level in your relationship. Tell her I said hello.....
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Our Smith is better than their Smith.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 The last time the Mets promoted a pitcher with as little minor league experience as MY SON Joe Smith....Jesse Orosco, 1979.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Just what you need during weather like this ... a 3-1/2 hour game.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 You're not at the ballpark.Rooting for a losing team.Heh, heh.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 X-rays were negatory but he wanted to get another opinion before they board the plane.Burgos > Howard with 2 men on.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 It is definitely the Mets night. Burgos retires Howard on a 400 foot fly out. He had him all the way.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 In July, that thing goes about 60 feet further of course.Burgos = Julio in a big way.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 I am positive that it was indeed the first squeeze ever called by Willie as Mets manager. I still wonder what exactly happened there. It didn't seem like Green got any sign (usually squeeze signals are whispered by the third base coach) for that play. The Phillies just look terrible. Victorino doesn't look like he should be playing in the majors; that 'pen is awful. Unless Howard and Utley wake up big time they're going to lose a lot.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Every supermarket in the Philadelphia area has, on its magazine racks, the current issue of Philadelphia Magazine featuring a big smiling closeup of Ryan Howard's face. The caption is, "HE WON'T LET US DOWN"Terrible expectations to put on a young player. I don't know if Howard will ultimately let them down or whether he won't, but he very well might.I remember when we would have said the same thing about Dwight Gooden. And I'm glad we're not quite saying it about David Wright yet.
