Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Nice job, Homer.I didn't expect Vargas to make this team, but he's had a nice spring, and there may be some residual pain watching Lindstrom and Owens anchor the Marlin pen while Vargas and Bostick farm away.http://www.richmolnar.com/Sounds/Homer%20-%20You're%20cut!.wavSierra is this year's Gallarraga.
dinosaur jesus Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 You're pretty cut yourself.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 CarpUrdanetaHernandezJohnsonGotayDiFeliceAlomar Jr.Sosa has cleared waivers and been bumped from the 40.
duan Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 nice job getting him off the 40.I know $1 million is a lot to be paying a guy to pitch in the minors, but Sosa's just a year from being a very good pitcher. If he could re-establish his control etc in New Orleans then we've got a realistic option to be this years *ahem* Jeremi Gonzalez

Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 What's the deal on Sandy Jr.?Is he going to New Orleans or is he leaving the organization?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 He has said he'll retire if he doesn't get a ML job.I think he knew he had little chance to get one here but hoped that maybe he'd catch the eye of some other team. So unless that happens in the next 2 days ...
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Being a catcher's injury away from joining a playoff contender isn't such a bad job, as well as being in a solid position to leapfrog to a coaching career. He may re-consider.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Gary had mentioned that Sandy being in camp was something of a favor to his Dad,very cool that Father and Son got to have spring training together,Gary also wondered if Sandy Jr.Had any coaching aspirations and if yes then somewhere in the Mets system would be great.

If nobody outbid the Mets when he looked like a potential starter, nobody's going to take his contract now.
