Strikeout and no-hit king in hospital

(Round Rock, Texas-AP) January 26, 2007 - Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan has been hospitalized with an undisclosed ailment.

His son says the 59-year-old strikeout king checked into the Round Rock Medical Center for treatment of recurring symptoms from a pre-existing medical condition. Reid Ryan declined to specify the condition, but said it was not an emergency.

Ryan had double-bypass heart surgery in 2000.

Ryan is to be transferred to a Houston hospital for further evaluations.

In his 27-year major league career he played for the Mets, Angels, Astros and Rangers. He struckout a total of 5,714 batters and threw seven no-hitters. Both are major league records.

Ryan is the majority owner of two minor league affiliates of the Astros.

Just say it. He has occasional bouts of elephant butt.

I wonder how the lab knew what to test for, since his ailment was undisclosed.
