I can't find the original WW thread so I thought we'd start anew with a mission:

Find me Austria Alou.

Find me Gabrielle Schoeneweis...

]Through high school, baseball was my girl-friend. I was obsessed with it. I breathed it, dreamt it, ate it.

Awkward mix of metaphor, Damion.

By the latter half of the article, you can understand why he'd be looking for love other places.

The only other thing I've got on her from her publicity is that she's into teacup poodles, which are pretty much dogs bred to suffer.

That's not nice. She's obviously mortally wounded, and pressing down hard on the wound with both hands, as can be seen from the agony and stress in her face, and you people are implying that she's an ugly, self -absorbed, coldhearted hag. Show a little compassion, and salute those who are about to die.

Mrs. Pedro Fulfills Hers Wifely Duties

Wife reports Pedro is fine
BY CHRISTIAN RED
DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER
Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic - As he works his way back, Pedro Martinez has an excellent workout aid: his wife, Carolina.

From the moment Martinez woke up in New York's Hospital for Special Surgery to repair his torn right rotator cuff on Oct.5, Carolina has been by his side. He was woozy and queasy as he tried to get up as the anesthesia wore off, and his wife helped support him as he tried to walk around the hospital room. During her visit to the gym last week, Carolina showed some visitors photos of her husband in his hospital bed, wearing his blue hospital cap.

"She saw how my eyes were closed when I was trying to get out of bed and I was stumbling around," Martinez joked, as Carolina rolled her eyes. "It was like, 'Whoa.'"

Her face may look familiar to many, and not because she is married to one of the most famous major league pitchers of this era. The former Carolina Cruz, who married Martinez in November 2005 after his debut season in Flushing, worked as a reporter for ESPN Deportes (the network's Spanish-speaking division) before tying the knot with the future Hall of Famer.

After taking time off following the wedding, she is now eager to work her way back into television and hopes to eventually work as a sports anchor. The two met when she was a student at Boston College and he was with the Red Sox.

As her husband was in the middle of a workout last week at his brother Ramon's home, Carolina stopped by to visit and later weighed some career options while he pedaled away on a stationary bike. She wrote a guest column for the Santo Domingo newspaper Listin Diario last year and is considering print journalism opportunities before coming back to television.

"I just want to make sure you get the right opportunity," said Pedro, who added that he does not want his wife to take a job where her peers would use her to get to him.

"The money I make, I'm giving to my grandmother," she said.

As Pedro rehabs his way back, Carolina continues to be with her husband every step of the way. The couple shares an apartment in the Los Cacicazgos section of Santo Domingo that overlooks the southern Caribbean surf. Weekends, particularly Sundays, are when the couple gets quality time together after church. Some Saturdays, however, Pedro takes time to escape to his boat and some deep sea fishing.

"Once Friday comes, I'm gone!" Pedro said, clapping his hands.

Once the season starts, the couple will move to their home in Greenwich, Conn., which Martinez bought before the start of his Mets career. He is expected to return to the rotation sometime in late summer.

"He's worked so hard all this time," Carolina said. "But he's doing well."

Isn't that gorgeous? I love it too, Johnny. Between her and Agent 99, I couldn't decide who to be when I grew up

Elmer's hat is Woolrich plaid. Nancy's is sleek and leathery. There's a difference.

I think Edgy just invented my new avatar....maybe I can just get KC to make the hat white leather and I'm all set

Yeah, that's sized to avatar.

You go back three spaces for dissing Nancy around here.
