They'd out-hit the Mets to the division. As long as they have Burrell's ridiculous salary on their books, I find it highly unlikely that Gillick would saddle another huge contact on kust one player on this team...
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 An article in the Philadelphia Inquirer early this week suggested that the Phillies plan for this winter is to find a way to unload Burrell, trade for Sheffield, and sign Soriano.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 The Yankees would take Burrell for Sheffield, I'm sure. Keep in mind that first base was always Burrell's natural position. Not to sound dumb or anything, but maybe the Phillies should try to get a competent pitcher? Assuming they ever want to win, that is.
Guest silverdsl Guests Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I'm so glad the Yankees don't have room for Soriano.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Never stopped them before. They replaced him with Rodriguez. They may well undo that move.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Good. There's been some concern because some newbies disappear after a few posts. We thought they may be interpreting that greeting as an insult: "Welcome aboard, dick!" We of course would never call you "dick" ... until we know you better.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Spelling it that way causes no confusion along the lines of "did he just call me a dick?" It may cause confusion as we get further removed from Mike Bordick.Peeps used to say "welcome aboardick" which was the one that I thought could be taken as an insult. Does anyone have a pic of the sign from 2000?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Newcomer fails to get six-year-old pun. Film at eleven.
