One of the greatest games in baseball postseason history

7-6 16 inning classic with the Mets hanging on to make it to the franchise's third World Series apperance.

In a losing cause, Mike Scott earned the MVP honors. The Mets would wait for the Red Sox to put away the Angels before opening the World Series on Saturday the 18th.
