What can we make of the fact that last night's home plate umpire was James Joyce?

I don't know what calling pitches four inches off the ground strikes against the Mets has to do with Joyce.

I was seated at "ground level" and that's what they seemed to me.

Was Joyce vision impaired?

The eyepatch certainly could not help.

From where I was sitting, the James Joyce with one eye patch at least had one better eye than the similarly named umpire.
