A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 DP's are saving Glavine's ass so far, the first one dumb luck, this one just dumb.Still have to question the Cards strategy swinging on so many first pitches (4 guys so far) knowing that Glavine can't go that deep in the game since he'll have to come back on short rest, and getting to the Mets pen is a pretty good idea anyway since both teams are playing 5 days in a row. He's only at 41 pitches now through 4, and at this rate could go 7 and still be around 80 pitches.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 ="Rockin' Doc"] Maybe Floyd can do a Kirk Gibson impression as a pinch hitter some time later in the series.Exactly.You may be right Fungus, as much as it pains me to say it.If we go to the Big Show, Cliffy cant play. Not the way he's looked last few games he was required to stand up on two legs in.That sucks. As far as Beltran throwing out Pojols-all I can say is wowzers!Come on Met bats.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 "Another wide strike......" Yikes. We need some hits!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Glavine is not getting this wide plate Weaver is.I dont like that...not a bit.0-0 thru 4
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 That wide, wide (wide!) zone is helping Weaver get into a groove.Me no likey.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Nevertheless, I advise all Mets to stop popping up immediately.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Who shall save us? Endy Chavez will save us.
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I can't believe Weaver is shuting them down like that. This must end!
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Valadius wrote:Who shall save us? Endy Chavez will save us.He just saved himself after that first mios step
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 WTF Leave the pitcher on deck, Tommy!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 It may be graceless to say this, because he's pitching a Helluva game, but Glavine seems fatter than he did last week against the Dodgers.Four-pitch walk to Molina. I'm bad luck.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 That's twice now that fatassed catcher has cleared the pitcher.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 WOW, Weaver made the worst swing I've ever seen.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Weaver's angry now. Now he'll mess up.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Way to get out of it, Tommy. Now let's score some runs!
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 The Mets hitters need to keep him angry!
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Valadius - "WOW, Weaver made the worst swing I've ever seen."How quickly you forget Al Leiter.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 didn't Al hit one to the warning track to shut mike and the dog up (and win a charity bet)?
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I really don't like this. Weaver frankly doesn't look that good to me, but for some reason, we're not making good contact. It probably helps that every single curve ball he throws gets called a strike, regardless of where it is in the strike zone. We REALLY need to figure him out and score a couple runs in the 6th.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I recall a triple at Philadelphia for Al.Big inning for Glavine coming up.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 rain?It cant rain til we outscore em. :s
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I remember that triple too.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Weaver now at 10 consecutive scoreless innings in the postseason. Glavine trying for 11.This game's zooming right along...
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Reyes shoulda dropped it for a DP.
