MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Yancy mentioned this in the Apple thread. If someone were to put together a Mets "coffee table" book, what do you think it should have in it?Later
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Stearns probably had a mean western coffee table. I picture him with the laquered cross section of an oak tree.Keith Hernanez probably has something slick, cosmopolitan, and black, at least 15 feet long.Wally Backman probably has rings all over his. That should definitely be in the book.

soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Well it should at least have legs on it. So if you don't have a coffee table it could be a coffee table.Genius I know.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Besides all the photos of the fan favorites, Met greats, World championship teams, etc., I'd like to see sections on:- Met yearbook covers- all Met Sports Illustrated covers- Photos of the construction of Shea
Guest KC Guests Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Any Mets coffee table book should have a story in it describing howScarlett Knight and I are married - oh wait, that's been done already.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 This pic should be in it.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 ="metirish"]This pic should be in it.Exactly.There have been enough books with photos like this one:I'd rather see more offbeat pictures, like this one:and this one:Photos of the Polo Grounds from 1962 and 1963 and of Shea Stadium through its history would also be great.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Great point Yancy, lets be different.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Mets and Pets is a great theme for a CTB right there:
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Yancy - "There have been enough books with photos like this one:" There can never be enough books with such pictures. There just needs to be more recent versions to add to the collection. Hopefully, there will be a new addition this fall.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I don't think Jesse O would be eligible for the postseason roster.
