Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 The Mets held the Astros to a lone single in this game, yet they still found a way to lose. The nine walks issued by the Mets was ultimately their undoing. It certainly didn't help that they ran into Roy Oswalt when he had his best stuff working. The difference in this game was command, Oswalt had it and the Mets pitcher's couldn't find the plate when it mattered most.Still the Mets won the series in Houston and continue to cruise towards the post season. So, lets savor a very successful road trip in which the Mets posted a record of 4-2. The team returns home to face the Braves riding a 13-3 record since August 17th.So tip your hat to Oswalt for a great performance and hope that the Mets won't have to face him again this year. Then welcome the Mets home to Shea with a toast of Lone Star Beer. From the Pabst Brewing Company, the same people that bring you Schaeffer.

stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Are you sure we shouldn't send Oswalt a nice case of Lone Star Beer? Or maybe just send over some Saranac or Redhook?=
