Gary and Ron are wearing matching olive green jackets. I don't know whether they planned that or not, but they look pretty silly.

I'm getting the Washington feed.

One of the Nationals announcers said that Brian Bannister is on the 60-day DL. Is that true? Did I miss something?

From the Daily News this morning:

]ZIPPING ALONG: John Maine takes a 23-inning scoreless streak into tonight's outing against Nats righthander Jason Bergmann (0-0, 8.14 ERA), who is making his second big-league start. Maine's streak is 8 2/3 innings shy of the franchise record set by Jerry Koosman in 1973.

I guess we can now make that 7 2/3.

So Maine needs a complete game shutout if he wants to break the record today.

I'd kind of hate to see a Jerry Koosman record fall, but Maine has my permission to pitch a shutout today.

5/30/06 Brian Bannister Transferred from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.

That's from Mets.com

Oh, that was on May 30. I thought they were describing a recent development.

So Brian's 60 days are up.

Thanks for the clarification.

Maine's scoreless streak is the longest by a Mets starting pitcher since Leiter went 25 scoreless in 1998, Mark Guthrie went 27 scoreless in 2002.

And now Maine has three scoreless innings today. (And the streak is at 26.)

3-0 Mets after 3.

I wonder if Jerry Koosman even knows that his record is in trouble?

Is he watching from his home in Minnesota?

Gary and Ron talking about the Green rumors and they bring up names like Jeff Jenkins and Preston Wilson, preston is not signed beyond this season.

Nick Fucking Johnson's solo homer ends Maines scoreless inning streak at 26.

3-1 Mets in the fourth.

Milledge's infield single brings home Mr. Wright and gives the Mets a 4-1 lead in the 6th.

Maine has suddenly run out of steam in the 6th with an infield hit, a 2-run Soriano homer, and a single. One on, none out, and a 4-3 Mets lead.

Feliciano is brought in to face Nick Fucking Johnson with a runner on second and one out. Feliciano immediately coughs up a single that Beltran misplays, and the runner on second scores the tying run easily.

Valentin with a bloop hit RBI single,Mets take the lead 5 to 4.....how did Jose not make the MLB "comeback player of the year" list?

And Feliciano does a job keeping Soriano from coming to the plate as the tying run.

Leave Sonia out of this. The woman has suffered enough.

Meanwhile, Heilman comes in to pitch the 8th with a 6-4 lead.

Now the tying run is on with Zimmerman up.

Kerri, talk to your man.
