Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Does that seem like a quick hook for Glavine?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Henry Blanco follows with a 2 RBI double-ripped down the 3rd baseline, just fair. And Bradfords done for the day.Feliciano will come on, part of a double switch that includes the X-man.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Five-run inning for the Cubs (and still only one out). This game has suddenly taken an ugly turn.No Schaefer for Bradford today!

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 A fine DP led by Valentin stops the bleeding.Mets down 5-2
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 So far, reading through this IGT is much like reading a novel that starts out strong and builds my interest then suddenly in a bizarre plot twist kills of the likable main character. There's still a few pages left to be written. Hopefully, the ending will will redeem this middle section and bring satisfaction to us all.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Shame--the 1st I get to see Owens pitch and he's getting smacked around like Bret Myers wife.(Nice compact windup--nice movement and speed-not throwing horrible-the Cubs have hit some nice pitches.Mets have just fallen apart as a cheap dribbler to short ends up plating another run as Woody thows it, somehow, under LoDuca at home.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 I'm blacked out by MLB.tv. All their fault.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Mabry with a sac fly--9-2 Chicago.Owens left to get out of this inning, which he finally does.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Maine to pitch some relief, and promptly gives up a line hit to right that Nady plays into a double. Then walks Lee.Can anybody here play this game,......this afternoon?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Maine with a behind the back web gem-snags the grounder behind him and turns it into a DP.Nice.Almost makes watching the rest of this game worthwhile.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 ....almost.Dempster puts me out of my misery with a 1-2-3 ninth. What started out as a pitching duel, turned into one of those games youd just as soon forget- everything simply turned against the Mets.I blame Murton, and that at bat he worked off Bradford. That turned the tide.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 This game just kept falling apart, the more I read the IGT, the more I wished I had never started doing so. The ending really sucked.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Ugly game - but also a weird one.I don't think I've ever seen a team bat around in consecctive innings while only hitting one, or maybe two, balls hard the entire time as the Cubbies did. Not that we deserved to win or anything but every grounder they hit found a hole, every bouncer went over an infielder, every tweener was justbeyond some fielder's reach, yyybbb. The Hank White (Henry Blanco) 2B was maybe the only hard hit ball and who knows what happens if Endy doesn't lose that leadoff fly in the sun. Can't blame him but that changed the entire game.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 ]Can't blame him but...sure you can. and if we werent 10 games up i'm sure alot of people would be blaming him right now.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 OK, people COULD blame him if they really want ... but it would be really stupid to do so.
