Clean slide. 3 feet away from the bag, but I guess it was clean.

Ed Coleman and Tom McCarthy on WFAN suggested that it wasn't, that Nady couldn't even touch 2nd if he reached all the way out.

Uh, what Olerud said.

Why is Beltran out?

No word yet. Guys on SNY don't know yet.

Speculation (from me): something irritated from when he fouled the ball off his leg in the ASG.

I was thinking he may be a little tweaked in the leg from the over-exention into 1st base during the ASG.

Either way, he looked fine out there so I'm hoping it's just precautionary.

KABOO...

Nope.

Yup.

Maybe.

Could it.

Nah.

Wait.

I dunno.

Young Cub fan points to where it landed, that's a home run.

But it's not. Bah.

That kid's a traitor to his side, though.

Looks like it's clearly a blown call.

Woodie, to his credit, I guess, ended on third.

Guys watching on TV - was Woody's hit out or not?

Clearly, 100%, not a doubt about it.

Woodward's drive was out of the park. After reviewing in slow motion, both of the Cub announcers agreed it should have been a home run.

Woodie's getting screwed. No worries, the team will drive him in.

And they do, Marrero singles for Trachsel. 6-2 Mets.

Then Jones misplays a foul pop by Lo Duca.

Valentin running like a leadoff man.

Marrero PH-ing for Trax drives Woodie in w/a Sac Fly.

Trax continues to confound Met fans - whenever they're ready to write him off and ship him out he becomes like good and stuff - almost as if he does it on purpose (I like to think he does)

Oops, I got it mixed up above. Marrero had an SF then Valentin singled.

Then Jose steals second. Then he steals third.

Valentin really running like a leadoff man.

Valentin goes all Reyes-like on the Cubs and steals third base too.

Lo Duca misses an easy RBI chance with a weak grounder to short.

Beltran: sore right knee.

Not injured on any particular play during the game. Bothered him so he left.

Valentin running like Ty Cobb.

Another report of Beltran's sore knee. They should let him sit for a week.

Valentin unable to steal home, stranded at third as Endy Chavez grounds out to second.

Cubbies wearing the Cool-Flo helmets also, but none of the two-tone nonsense.

Sadly, the Mets are the only team to use that weird looking crap.

It's just not Mets baseball if Floyd isn't getting hit with a pitch.

Cliff gets caught dead to right's stealing, but the ball flies out of Walker's glove.

Nady avenges Floyd by smacking a ball right off of Cubbie pitcher Scott Williamson.
