Seems I can't get away from those guys. I was just reading a Computerworld Executive briefing on Voice over IP. It contained the following comment:

]Softphones on laptop PCs allow the Boston Red Sox to save $3000 per user per month in long-distance phone charges (to/from their various farm teams, including their baseball academy in the Dominican Republic). And routing local phone calls to the press room via VoIP saves the team another $40,000 annually.

Beckett's one of those guys - like Clemens or Brad Penny - who just looks like the typical big, dumb, jock-asshole that you didn't like in High School and isn't likely to be any more pleasant now.

Reminds me of the line from 'Heathers' after Winona and whazzisname offed the two football players: "Don't worry about it Veronica, now that football season's over the only thing left they had to offer the school was date-rape and aids jokes"
