We ought not let P-Lo get away too easy for his role in this one. Guy in front of ya hits for the cycle and you can't even advance him a base.

i don't understand why beltran doesnt steal there. it seems like it the perfect storm of pro-steal factors. high-percentage base stealer, incredible need to avoid the double play, as well as putting the all-important game extending tying run in scoring position.

Nady left a boat load of men on base and the D wasn't sharp at all. Fun game to watch, but not overall well played by the Mets.

I agree. i understand you dont wanna distract Delgado, but he's a big boy. He should be able to deal with that and know its coming on certain counts, which he found himself at afew times.

Yea,Beltran should have been thrust into scoring position.
During Delgados at bat.

We gave that one away in a bunch of different ways - in addition to the obvious one.

- too many LOBs (duh!)
- they took extra bases on us (is Beltran EVER planning on hitting a cut-off man?) + many LoDuca passed balls
- and we took very few on them: Delgado c/should have scored on Wright's 2B, Reyes getting caught off on the liner (where ya goin dude? you got Franco in front of you!)

And yeah, I woulda sent Beltran running at some point also.

I was more concerned about his play behind the plate.
I dont know where his head was back there tonight.

Hit your knees and block that pitch guy.

In a game like this one every play counted.

Oh, and add Valentin's ill-advised scramble in the 2nd inning to the laundry list of outs given away.
What's he trying to do, get thrown out for the cycle this week?

But Jose Reyes hits for the cycle.
