Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 ="metirish"]We are back , Oliver pitching for the Mets...I ripped this from someone here--whoever it was, thanks. Its a great graphic with soooooo many possible uses.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 WOW!Delgado flashes some leather!Nice.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Manuel should keep walking, cuz he's probably going to be fired by the end of this series.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Jerry Manuel is thrown out for arguing balls and strikes. It's 7-2 Mets after four complete innings. 1 inning to go!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Go play some cards Charlie!Manuel gets tossed after Bell gets rung up on a questionable strike 3 call. And he's still jawin--gettin his moneys worth before headin for the clubhouse, lol.Oliver has a relitively smooth inning, thanks to Delgados glove work and that umps bad call..
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 ]Get that in the "Where Have You Gone..." threadIt's there.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 ]Manuel should keep walking, cuz he's probably going to be fired by the end of this series.Yeah if not at the end of this series then soon, he's the manager in some part because of Jim thome and the current GM didn't hire him so he's fukced.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Lame defensive boners and spacey baserunning mistakes pretty much characterized the Diamondbacks performance also. Getting outhit and outpitched is one thing, but the teams the Mets are running into are beating themselves as badly as the Mets are beating them.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 yow!The wind must be pretty wicked for Utley to let that Millidge pop make a fool out of him.Another Philly error.Foul ball tho, and Millege gives em an easier pop up to handle. And they catch it Oliver bats and lines out hard to right.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Oliver Ks Howard with 3 pitches and two on base!If the Mets can always handle Howard like that, they will never have anything to worry about when playing the Phils.Well,...except Utley and Burrell and...Rollins can go on that list now , and.....ok--Ill shut up.

Anyone recall if he smacked into one sometime?I've always thought Abreu to be a very indifferent outfielder ... or at least he can be one at times. And not just heading for the wall either. It just seems like he can lose interest at times, not charge balls well, take weird routes to fly balls, etc., last year's Gold Glove notwithstanding.Good player but something about that guy has always bugged me and I get the opinion that I wouldn't like him on my team despite all his obvious talent.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 cripes-I just realized that Burrell isnt even playing left tonight. You would have thought LoDucas first inning double, which I noted, would have clued me in.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Lead off double for Rowand. Not up enough for Beltran to catch up to that.Oliver looks like he's laboring. But it would really be nice to get afew more innings from him.Rowand tags to third on a deep fly to center by DeLucci.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Rowand attempts to join the dumb baserunning parade, tagging at second and coming into third standing and nearly getting nailed on an off-line throw.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Good thing we don't see anymore of those 'sit in front of the plate and sweep tag' manuvers now that Piazza is gone.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 ewww- Rowand tags but Chavez makes it close with an excellent throw.I think it was you that brought up Endys arm afew days ago Frayed Knot, and maybe Willie DID know what he was sayin there about Chavez's arm.He threw that across his body going away for a real nice peg to the plate.7-3 Mets.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Valentin hammers a lead off double to right.More runs please.Phils force our hand by walking Lastings and Mr Franco will pinch hit for Oliver.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Can you believe Abreu does it again!???Misplays a catchable fly at the wall off Mr Francos bat and Mets get another run.Milledge thrown out at the plate tho.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 That lack of hustle may have sealed the deal on Milledge going back to Norfolk for some seasoning once Nady comes off of the DL.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Didnt we see Feliciano for 2 last night?Im surprised to see him get the ball.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Keith and Howie said pretty much the same thing as I did, right after I posted.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Well--what do i know?--I thought Burrell was out in left.--he has a smooth 1-2-3 inning.Ks the pesky Utley.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 loDuca crushes one to center but the wind keeps in in the park.Harry K says last night that would a hit the clock out there, lol.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 6 Phillies outs to go and a 6-run Mets lead.Every Mets starter in this game has had a hit and has scored a run. This is going to be another game where there just won't be enough Schaefer to go around.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Damn, I didn't even know this game was on ESPN until last inning. I'm so accustomed to not seeing the Mets games unless they're playing the Braves or Cubs that I forgot to even check the listing or schedule.
