The prognosis looks pretty bad.He wasn't a very good umpire, at least during the second half of his career, and was one of the fools who lost his job over the foolish Richie Phillips gambit. I liked him anyhow. He cried like a baby when John McSherry died.I was looking for a reference to that and found this 10-year-old atrticle about his struggles.

I was in the restroom heading out the door and he was coming in. He was also commissioner of WING BOWL http://www.610wip.com/wingbowl/ in Philly, an annual hot wing eating competition.
