I remember reading an article many years ago in which the author compared the beauty and complexity of a second baseman making a pivot on a double play with some complex ballet moves.

This author obviously interviewed heathens, who chose not to include any examples of baseball in their research or discussions.

D'Amboise was the greatest dancer I've ever met who had a pure New York street accent. It was funny how in his ballet classses he'd call out "Naw, naw, yuh wanna jete maw like dis den whut yuh're dooin'"--he was terrific.

Wasn't Edward Valella from New York too?

If not born here, it seems he was a long time resident.

While Jacques' style was pure grace, I remember Valella's style being a combination of grace and power. He had the body of a middleweight fighter.
