Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 10 of Jenkins 21 RBIs are against the Mets?Thats some crazy sheeeeeeee-it.Turnbow to close, Mets with the big guns up.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 This blows, and Philly won again today...
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Turnbow blows Beltran away.1 down.Degado (2006 MVP-MVP) up.......Delgado with a double in the gap!Come on David!!!!!!!!!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 wright grounds out--delgado moves over to third.Im surprized Nady is still usin the pink bat.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 WOW....I love this game....ump had his arm cocked and ready to call Nady out and end the game....
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Wow.Let's get that down for posterity.2 hopper in the hole, SS goes into short left to pick it up, does a jump throw. The throw bounces on its way to first, Cecil Jr has to sort of dive as he's reaching for it, he grabs it in his glove a full step before Nady touches first as he's falling down. But when he hits the ground it fell out of his glove.Base hit correctly called. If Fielder had held onto it it would've been a great play on both ends. AND, if he had been out, either Nady is ridiculously slow or he wasn't hustling the whole way.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 WHEWNady gets it done with an infield single.Tie game.wow---- Delgado getting over to third was HUGE.DAMN!Clark makes a diving catch to get the brewers out of it.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Gray was right about how big Delgado going to 3rd on Wrights grounder....it's the small things that he does that are also impressive.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 That wasn't quite diving. The ump was pumped to call Nady out there. Would he have been?I thought safe at first. Replay says maybe not.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I said "sort of" diving. If you've got a better way to explain be my guest. It's a better written record than "infield hit"

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 If he had caught it, Nady was definitely out.

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Is it just nerves? Or is Wright just a bad fielder?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 DAVID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!have you not learned what errors do?
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 This is what we call over-managing. Wagner is coming out.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I think Ramon Castro should replace David Wright for ninth-inning defense.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 its just bad luck. not that he's a great fielder, but if these errors came in the 3rd instead of the 9th nobody would talk about them

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Freakin' Bradford submarines his pickoff throw. Amazin'.

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I think the fact that they DO seem so concentrated in the ninth could be a point in favor of Wright being a good fielder. Maybe he only makes errors in "big" spots, so he actually is an excellent fielder. 'Course, I doubt there will be many subscribers to that idea on this site.
