Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 A 1-2-3 top of the first for Zambrano. Keep it up!
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Zambrano effective in the first, striking out Giles and Larry.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Delgado knocks in Reyes for the first run of the game.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Zambrano may be allergic to pitching well, it seems as if his arm is hurting.Great.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Ugh - it looks like there's something wrong with Zambrano's arm
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Zambrano strikes out MisspelledAndrew and then ran off the mound and into the clubhouse.Uh-Oh - who the heck is going to pitch this game?
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 We don't know what's wrong. But something is bothering him.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Darren Oliver, what you got Darren? 6 or 7 innings?
Guest martin Guests Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 maybe he has an upset stomach or something, he didnt look like anything was wrong otherwise physically. that could certainly make him run off the mound like that.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2006 Author Posted May 6, 2006 Willie went out 6 pitches into the misspelledAndrew at-bat -- looked like he had bothered something -- thought it was neck, but could've been arm
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Helluva line though: 1.1 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 BB, 3 KZambrano - the new Jorge Julio.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Oliver is no Zambrano.Swingin' Jeff Francouer homers to tie it.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Ouch, Darren Oliver - the new/old John Maine.
Guest GYC Guests Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 What will the rotation look like if it is serious? Pedro - Glavine - Trachsel - Heilman - Lima, and then keep Fortunato up?

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2006 Author Posted May 6, 2006 There's also Jeremi Gonzalez, at Norfolk.Bannister is apparently beginning long-tossing, so hopefully he'll be back soon.

But he wouldn't have been calmly discussing that on the mound a few pitches before, I wouldn't think. Telling Willie and the trainer, "I really have to poop badly." "Well, Victor, get this last batter out and then we'll let you go potty."

Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Mets starting rotation looking less like the Maine, and more like the Titanic?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Blessing of blessings, Oliver is on today.
Guest KC Guests Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Any word on what was up with Zambrano? My guess was that he had theruns too but I guess that's hard to tell the matinee audience.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 And Fortunado is in the house? Is that correct?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Watching the replay it looked like Zambrano charged for the dugout before he even saw the result of the pitch. If it had been grounded back to the mound he wouldn't have been there to field it.If it was an elbow twinge, or something like that, I'd imagine that he'd shake his head and start walking back to the dugout. That immediate sprint was way strange.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
